How do I redeem my Mega Chase Red Core?
December 1 Update
Did you find one of the Red Core redemption Half Pennies in Mega Chase 2025? If so, read on to learn how to redeem your Red Core hit:
- Visit our Instant Offer page to look up the cert number on your Half Penny redemption slab (be sure to enter “0” as the grade).
- Follow the instructions on the Instant Offer page. You will be creating an order to “sell” your redemption slab back to VaultBox
- Ship your redemption Red Core Half Penny to VaultBox. Be sure to include the paperwork emailed to you!
- Once we receive your coin, you will receive an email from [email protected] asking if you would like to receive your Red Core redemption coin, or your payment for the value of your Red Core redemption coin.
- We will send you your coin or payment – whichever you prefer.

How does Mega Chase work?
- Each bag will contain a PCGS-certified Jamaica 1/2 Penny recovered from the World Trade Center.
- Your 1/2 Penny will either be in a standard WTC label or in a Red Core VaultBox label. If you got a Red Core, continue on to step 3! (Reminder: VaultBox only provides Instant Offers on coins in a VaultBox label).
- Red Core Redemption. Hold on to your Red Core! On December 1st at 12pm PST, we will reveal the hit that corresponds to each Red Core Redemption 1/2 Penny.
- After the Answer Key is revealed, Redemption holders can follow the instructions here to receive their gold Red Core hit!

A historic coin
The gravity of the 9/11 attack on the Twin Towers cannot be understated. Americans across the country felt directly impacted by the event and scared, underscored by a sensation that they were now part of an unsure but massively important event.
During the recovery effort, the vault under the World Trade Center was unearthed. The vault contained a hoard of coins which had miraculously survived the attack. These coins were eventually taken to PCGS where they were authenticated.
Now, these coins stand the testament of time as artifacts of one of the most important events of all time.
GEM BU examples
A small portion of these Jamaica Half-Pennies were preserved extraordinarily well. PCGS holdered these coins and certified them as “GEM Brilliant Uncirculated” for their exquisite condition. Look for some of these examples in Mega Chase.
Answer Key
Certified by PCGS
Before Mega Chase launches, PCGS will independently certify the answer key that links each Redemption Half Penny to a Red Core hit. This provides an additional layer of security and helps maintain the integrity of the chase.
Two weeks after the launch of Mega Chase, Red Core Redemption holders will be able to see which Red Core hit their coin unlocks.
