Chase GSA Rarities
Of all the dates found in the GSA Hoard, the 1879-CC and the 1890-CC stand apart as the rarest coins on the market. With nearly 3,000,000 total Morgan Dollars in the hoard, only 4,129 of the former were found and 3,949 of the latter.

"The Great Silver Sale"
In 1972, the U.S. General Services Administration held “The Great Silver Sale” to auction off 700,000 Morgan Dollars that had sat untouched in Treasury vaults since the late 1800s. The GSA held other sales throughout the 70’s, eventually selling nearly 3,000,000 silver dollars.
Each coin was sealed in a distinctive hard plastic GSA capsule that collectors have come to love. These coins remain intact from those sales 50 years ago, with their beautiful luster still intact.
Original Slab, Box, and Cert
The appeal of the GSA Hoard extends beyond the coins into the slabs, boxes, and even certificates of authenticity.
Rarer certs like the 1879 fetch astonishing prices – sometimes exceeding $500 for a piece of paper. Collectors are happy to pay these premiums because they make a GSA coin complete.
